Red Dead Redemption Is Finally On PC, More Than 14 Years Later

PC gamers have waited more than 14 years for Red Dead Redemption to make its way to that platform, but at long last, they can saddle up for the classic open-world cowboy adventure. Now available, this edition includes both the base game and its Undead Nightmare expansion, as well as PC-specific features like support for ultrawide and super ultrawide monitors, Nvidia DLSS frame generation, and other graphical upgrades.

Controversially, Red Dead Redemption has a launch price of $50, which Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick called "commercially accurate" when it was released for that price in 2023 on PS4 and Switch (via IGN). In comparison, Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC is just $35 on Steam--and less than $20 at Fanatical--but you can save a few bucks on Red Dead Redemption with this launch deal for the Epic Games Store version.

Hopefully, the game launches in a smoother state than GTA Trilogy, as the 2021 release of that game on PC was marred by numerous technical issues.

Meanwhile, Red Dead Redemption developer Rockstar Games continues work on Grand Theft Auto 6, a game that isn't currently scheduled to be released on PC. Instead, it'll be arriving on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as the studio will prioritize consoles first.

Other Rockstar games like GTA 4, GTA 5, and Red Dead Redemption 2 all eventually made their way onto PC over time, so it's likely that PC gamers won't have to wait too long for GTA 6 to be released on that platform if it hits its Fall 2025 launch window on consoles.
