Redbox Won't Rent Games Anymore, But It's Selling Them For Dirt Cheap Right Now

Everything must go.

Game rentals having been dying for a while now, but some services, like Redbox, have let you hold onto a game for a few days then give it back for a free. Not anymore, however--the company announced earlier this month it has stopped offering game rentals at its many kiosks nationwide (it'll still offer movie rentals, however). In fact, it looks like Redbox is trying to get rid of all of its games, and you might be able to gain from their loss.

In a recent tweet, Redbox customer service explained the decision to stop renting games was made after evaluating "changes in the industry," which led it to shift its full focus to physical movies, which is the bulk of its business anyway.

Redbox is clearing out its stock of games with a massive games sale with some of the best prices available online, including Marvel's Spider-Man for $10, Death Stranding for just $25, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for $30. Most of the prices aren't immediately visible, as you'll need to enter your zip code first to see if it's in stock near you.

Enter your zip code, and you'll be shown the deal price if it's in stock.

Here are some of the best game deals we were able to verify. While Redbox shows Nintendo Switch games on its site, only PS4 and Xbox One games appear to be available. Keep in mind stock will vary based on your location, and you'll have to pick up the game at your local Redbox.

The prices still seem a little high considering that these are used disks, most likely all scratched up and without the original case.

Sadly they are used and do not come with the original case, I think the prices are okay, but I prefer to have the original case with my games.

Also their model was not that great, $2 a day to rent a game is too much.

There's a redbox where I work. I'll make sure to stop by early to check what's left. 😁

There only doing away with this because people were returning photo copies of the disc and keeping the actual game disc themselves. The games were ending up on ebay for a bit cheaper than retail... Perfect crime. They finally woke up. It is a shame though how a few can ruin it for everyone. Lol oh well
