Resident Evil 5 ships 4 million

i'm beating the game right now, and i'm haappy to hear about a pc version i'll probably pick that up to so i don't have to pay for online with my 360.

Not going to lie, not a huge fan of the game...lotsa hype though.

Honestly, i hate stats that say "ships." That means jack-all. That doesn't mean sales. I used to work at Best Buy, and whenever a big game would come out that would sell a lot, do you know how many MOUNTAINS of copies we got? Seriously, big games like Soul Calibur, Mercs 2, CoD anything, Resistance, Madden....sure we sold a bunch, but we literally had STACKS of them leftover, to the point where they'd be dominating storage. How many games were "shipped" doesn't mean a damned thing.

Well, I played RE5, quite disappointing with Stop-Aim games.. The game aint that scary.. or to say, none at all. No horror substance. Scary games; Bioshock >Silent hill5>Deadspace > Fear2 > RE5 I cant get the mood to replay the RE5, So i spend my time getting all achievement for Lego : Indiana jones.. wkakakak Infinite ammo, and soo easy to remember where enemy will come from and ++ Well, PC version coming out, with godly mouse aiming, hell, im sure people playing it wont feel a thing, It takes a few seconds for me to turn back, aim, and walaa shoot~ With mouse, Fuhh, I think it only took less than sec.

RE5 rocks!!! fantastic game! :D

The problem is half the people that downloaded the demo said it turned them off.

Gratz to Capcom! They deserve this! The game is a blast and It's so nice to see how far Resident Evil has come! 13 years and counting!

I played the demo on PSN and I couldn't stand the controls so I'm not buying the game. Looked great though, too bad I wasn't feeling the controls. Same thing with Killzone 2. I'm still playing Fallout3 and Resistance 2 that may play into it. I'm not saying all game should be controlled the same but switch to a completely different feel just doesn't go well. Outta the two new games Resident Evil 5 was the most frustrating. And don't start saying it adds to the difficulty, because the who stoppin game play to move just a terrible choice. I don't care how great the story and graphic are. RE4 was great and it didn't give the feel of a fixed camera like this title did. This is Nex Gen, were supose to improve on the advancements of last Gen.

I'm near the end of the game at the moment, and it's pure class. I certainly didn't expect Capcom to top RE4, but they've done a great job with number 5. The only downside to RE5 is the lack of scares. But, that's not to say the game is lacking in atmosphere - because it has that by the bucket load! Enemy design, bosses, combat, locations, replayabilty, unlockables... what more do you want? One of the best games I've played this generation. All the haters don't know what they're on about. That, or they haven't actually played the game themselves.

Good to hear. It's well deserved. I haven't played a Resident Evil game since Nemesis on the Playstation and this game just helps to remind me how awesome Resident Evil actually is.

I am waiting for the PC Version.

I personally will be wating for RE: Darkside Chronicles.

I have finished the game today and all I can say is this is one of the best resident evil games to date. The graphics, story, action, etc was perfect. My only complaint was that the horror was a bit dumbed down other than that everything was fine. I am not at all surprised by the sale figures congratulations CAPCOM. Keep giving us quality games like these and these types of sales will be common for you.

It costs me more than 5 dollars (in time) to get my credit card setup for PSn and to buy and install the versus mode. Stupid.

i actually bought mine for $70 here is canada plus tax when usually they are just $60

Wow, cant wait to get this one. Havent played much since RE0, I'm going to have to get RE4 sometime too.

I think the 5$ Versus mode is more a precautionary measure ...Against piracy.

$5 isn't much, no, but it's cheap that Capcom excluded a mode for the purpose of adding another $5 to the price of the game. Ridiculous.

RE5 is great, I just wish this one friend of mine would finally start playing it so we could do co-op! I really enjoyed Degeneration, I just wish it had a Japanese language track on it. It's a great Blu-ray to own.

Resident Evil 5 is an awesome game and lives up to being one of the most anticipated games this year.

Wow, buffdaddy69. Just because there are two people means it isn't a survival horror, huh? You think with one person it's survivor horror? I hope you're talking about online co-op, because if you're not then I guess Resident Evil 0 doesn't count as survival horror. And speaking of Resident Evil 0, just like in Resident Evil 5, you have to worry about the survival of your partner as well as yourself. NintendoWarrior was pretty much right about what he said.

I had this game in my hands today but had to take it back because of certain circumstances, but I'll be getting this friday. I have been looking forward to getting this game for along time and I thought getting the co-op was the extra bonus. Now that I find out I only have to pay five bucks to also get versus is a draw dropping revelation! I think that is awsome. I think it's good how they surprise us with good news (well to some, anyway) and something unexpected. And to help fund their creativity so we can get a RE6 that will in some way be better than RE5, five bones is a small price to pay. Right when I get the game I'm DL'ing that bad boy right quike!

defending the fact that gamers are going to have to dish out 5 dollars if they want to play vs.????? come on, do you guys enjoy throwing away money. If it wasn't intended on being in the game, why has it been developed for the day the game shipped. Come on now. So bungie releases halo 4 and says "oh yeah this game was meant to be single player only, you guys will have to pay us an other 5 bucks to play multi" you think gamers will be happy? I could see if this was a patch later on, but if you're releasing it with the game, please don't expect gamers to be so quick to draw out their wallets. This is just selfish and a slap to the face. If this feature wasn't meant for the game, then capcom shouldn't have developed it. no way am i paying five dollars.

It probably sold 10 times more than SFIV. Still i one of few player choose SFIV over RE5, i just don't find RE5 as good as COD series. and i only play the ebst RTS not a average one.

Notice the vast majority of the people aren't complaining about the Versus mode being $5. We are mad because it costs extra. Period. You all are right $5 is nothing, but when you just paid $60 for a game only to find out its part of it - you'd be a little mad, no?

Well, if you can support your family on $5, then you can probably turn water into wine. We should all be eating dinner at your house. Back to the subject. When has RE been multiplayer? It was not in the original plan to put it on there, so you are getting extra. Which usually means that you will pay extra. Look, I'm not trying to hit you personally, but you are making it seem as if $5 is going to change a lot. If you don't have $5, because it went to food for your family then good on you, but don't use that as if we all make life or death decisions when we download content.

People seriously stop complaining and just play the game. "Its too much action! Omg not Resident Evil!" Grow up.

Just finished it today, glad to hear to hear it is Capcom's biggest launch for a Resident Evil game. While not as groundbreaking as RE4, RE5 is a fantastic game.

@ DL_Padron Yes, this is a gaming website, but if you haven't noticed, we are now in one of the biggest global recessions that has affected everyone and everything. $5 is typically not a lot of money for most people, but for some, it can be a lot of cash. Now, you can say "Just don't get it," but versus multiplayer is something that should have been added into the game already. You may argue that the game was shipped when the developers were making the versus multiplayer, but they could've added versus multiplayer with a free update instead of making you pay for it. It can also be argued that the developers are also having tough economic issues, but according to the numbers mentioned in this article, it doesn't appear that they'll be short on cash anytime soon. The point of my statement originally is that not everyone spends their $5 on McDonalds, candy, milkshakes, etc. And if you think that making sure that your family stays alive is a lame excuse for not buying the versus multiplayer for RE5, than your moral values must be different than my own. If any of this offends anyone in any way, I apologize in advance.

IMO RES5 is a REALLY good game and under rated. So much entertainment, excitement and action. Most fun i've had in ages. My advise would be play it on veteran!
