Resident Evil 6 first launched in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox One, with a PC release following in 2013. The game wasn't received very well in GameSpot's review, panned for its messy mix of annoying quick-time events, bad pacing, and poorly executed scripted events. However, its great voice acting and action-packed cutscenes were praised for their ability to draw players into the story.
It wouldn't be the first time Capcom has ported its previous Resident Evil games to the current generation of consoles as high-definition remakes. Earlier this year Resident Evil HD Remastered, a high-definition remaster of 2002's Resident Evil Remake, which was in turn a remake of 1996's Resident Evil, was released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
Capcom has also announced a HD release of Resident Evil Zero, scheduled to launch in January 2016 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. In August this year, Capcom confirmed that a remake of Resident Evil 2 is also in development.
