Resident Evil: Revelations Coming To PS4/Xbox One

The game was originally released for Nintendo 3DS in 2012.

Resident Evil: Revelations is coming to new platforms. Capcom announced today that the game, originally released in 2012 for Nintendo 3DS, will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this fall.

The game will be available physically and digitally in North America and Europe, Capcom said in its announcement on Twitter. Pricing was not announced, nor were any details provided about what might be new for the current-generation console port. More information is "coming soon."

Revelations was released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC in 2013. The story is set between the events of Resident Evil 4 and 5 and features the characters Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine.

A sequel, the episodic Resident Evil: Revelations 2, came out in 2015 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation Vita.

GameSpot's Revelations review scored the game an 8.5/10. "Resident Evil: Revelations is a thoroughly successful crossbreeding of old-school chills and new-school action," reviewer Jane Douglas said.

The newest original Resident Evil game is Resident Evil 7, which came out in January. A Resident Evil 2 remake is currently in the works, with the game being rebuilt from the ground up for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Good RE game. This isn't necessary, though.

that game definitely had its moments. jill's story was really fun to play and the boat was a great location. what i did not enjoy that much were all those filler chapters where you'd play different characters in straight shoot'em all dead scenarios, without any puzzles, secrets or weapon upgrades. although those chapters made me enjoy the ones with Jill even more ;) also in the ps3 version (i did not play the handheld version) you had this "glide-over-the-ground"-effect when you move your character. not really nice, but not all that distracting either.

raid mode was a very succesful variation of the mercenaries mode in my opinion. no arena-type maps, but instead you were fighting your way through the different levels of the story with interesting and challenging variations of enemies with different types of buffs. finding upgrades and modding your weapons from say a standard semi-auto sniper to a sniper that would unload its whole clip at once, auto-reload, and use spare ammo of non-equipped weapons after you ran out of sniper ammo was something really new and fresh in a resident evil game (and you did need these kind of mods before even considering the hardest difficulty, let alone the last stage on the hardest difficulty). beating stages, leveling up and finding those upgrades kept me motivated for a long time.

I thought Capcom did an excellent job on the RE1 AND RE Zero Remasters, so this can only be a good thing right? Maybe make it more like the mainline series Resident Evil titles and less like RE Revelations 2 and should be smooth sailing!

Remaster Dragon Dogma Dark Arisen and I'll bite or make a proper sequel. Loved the game on PS3. Don't forget RE3 too for a remake. Onimusha would be a good series to resurrect. I'll take U.N Squadron too... I know, I know, I just miss U.N Squadron... or Mickey Mouse and the Magical Quest. Now I'm grasping at straws :) On topic, I did like REV1

Nice. I really enjoyed it on the 3DS and I'll definitely pick it up for Xbox One. Good to see that they're releasing a physical version as well since that is my preferred format.

Cool.
Almost all of them are on next gen now (excluding some of the awful spin-offs).
We already have RE2 remake coming, all we need now is RE3 and RE: Code Veronica remake.
And they should remake RE6 too, cause that game was baaaaalls.

@hansond_jaysond_lee: why everybody complain about resident evil 6 ?!? I like this game especially on pc ,first time played this game on 30inch 2k ips monitor ( hp ZR30w ) 2560x1600 with 60fps, everything on ultra , this game was optimized very well on pc without any problems , and the graphics was very nice even in these days , 2k resolution with 60fps from 2012 : )

900p 30 fps in 2017 : (

30 fps not native 4k in 2018 : (

144fps 4k resolution in 2018 : )

this game doesn't deserve another physical release.a digital remaster would have been enough and it would have sold as much as it will now with physical release.

@czlapaj2: Why would a singleplayer game that only ever sees you play one hero at a time have co-op?

Unless you're talking about Raid mode which DOES have local co-op.

@Barighm: It's a flawed system but still works well, take Dying light for example, you can play the story mode in co-op and during cut scenes you're the same character but during gameplay your 1-4 players. Does it make sense, no , but is it fun and does it make fans and players happy at no additional cost to the dev for cutscene production, yes. Not to mention the fan base for this game is all over the place due to Capcom's inability to make the game interesting on it's own merit and instead cop out and make co-op shooters with cod elements because that's what's trending at the time. Res 7 did well because it went back to it's single player survival horror roots that it was always meant to be. Res 5 still one of my favorite co-op games ever :p

laughable, i wasn't interested in this sh**t the first time so I passed and I feel the same now so I'll pass again......

frack off with RE games.....do something new for a change or bring back older games.....

Darkstalkers, Final Fight, Trojan would be good.....i'd love to see more Onimusha.....

Lost Planet can stay dead......RE needs like a 5 year hiatus even with the success of RE7......not eww let's span RE now....NO!!!

@darthrevenx: This post doesn't make sense. "Do something new". RE7 is a new take on the RE formula. "Bring back the older games". RE:R is a throwback to the older games.

@darthrevenx: But they have been bringing back the older games. They did one, zero, and are working on the RE2 remake, and they just released seven which is a completely new game. Both of what you want has either happened or is going to happen. Your post still makes no sense. Barighm is right on that one lol.

@darksouls: running the same IP on and off for 20+ years isn't what I mean.......I mean bring back the IP's they neglect......bench the crap they keep rehanshing......RE has been rebooted 2X and within close proximity......a decade or so.....that's bad.....plus they kinda have what 2 or 3 timelines going?? RE is confusing as F to get into....

I'm frigging talking retire RE for awhile, do somethig goddamn different, not that friggin hard to understand, i'm not being stupid, you all are failing to see what I'm saying.....

STOP MAKING RE GAME, DO SOMETHING OTHER THAN RE.....that's what the F i mean.....can I be any mnore fracking clear or is even that confusing for you????

@darthrevenx: Lol well I think you're being stupid because your comments are horribly written and take you explaining them multiple times to different people because nobody understands your incoherent rambling lol.

RE is a great series and I cant wait for them to do more with the new take on the series, as seen in RE7. RE is by far (no contest) Capcoms best ip and the only thing they can do right imo.

@darthrevenx: Wow, you're an angry one.

You came to a Resident Evil topic to say that you didn't like it. Seems like wasted time to me never mind the follow ups to those who replied, erroneously or otherwise. I appreciate you don't enjoy the RE series but how about Street Fighter, Dragons Dogma Online? If they don't appeal then buy from another company.

I already own and played Revelations on my 3DS years ago but the game was good and I doubt I'll buy it again on current-gen unless it's free with PS+ or GWG.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time with this game.

A little strange to see them suddenly decide to port it over to the more powerful consoles, especially considering it was already done on the PS3 and 360, but I guess they feel they can capitalize on a quick port. This is Capcom we are talking about after all, lol.

Either way it’s still a nice excuse for people who may have skipped this installment to give it a shot.

Oh… and let the Capcom hate begin!

-IN 3… 2… NINJA APPROVED-
