The new short puts the iconic duo into the world of anime.

Adult Swim's Rick and Morty is currently wrapping up Season 5, with three more episodes coming before the season is over. While it may be another year before Season 6 arrives, you can still get a little bit more with a new short.

Rick and Morty get the anime treatment in "Summer Meets God," which is directed by Takashi Sano. If that name sounds familiar to you, it's because Sano is the director of the Tower of God series and the cutscene director of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Check out the video below for yourself.

In the short, Summer has a new boyfriend, but he isn't human. Of course, everyone else is in trouble as well. It's an interesting mash-up that works, but this isn't the first time it's happened.

In July 2020, Sano directed the short Rick and Morty vs. Genocider, which follows Morty on a journey to Tokyo, Japan. He needs help in order to stop "The Genocider."

There is plenty of more Ricky and Morty coming down the line. In 2018, Adult Swim ordered 70 more episodes of the series, and co-creator Dan Harmon stated earlier this year that the writing team was already working on Season 7.
