Ridley Scott's Kingdom Of Heaven 4K Steelbook Preorders Restocked At Amazon
Kingdom of Heaven's Director's Cut is getting a three-disc Limited Edition Steelbook release on May 27.
Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Orlando Bloom, Eva Green, and Liam Neeson, Kingdom of Heaven had plenty of buzz surrounding its release in 2005. It didn’t quite earn critical acclaim, but it managed to earn generally favorable reviews and gross over $218 million worldwide, making it a massive box office success. Two decades later, the film is getting a 4K Blu-ray release of the expanded director’s cut--the version Scott wanted to release before it was truncated by Fox for its theatrical re
Preorders for the Kingdom of Heaven Director’s Cut Limited Edition Steelbook are now open ahead of its May 27 launch. Amazon has already sold out once, and Walmart is currently out of stock, so you may want to snag a copy from Amazon while you can.
Kingdom of Heaven Director’s Cut 4K Steelbook
$56 | Releases May 27
This 3-disc collection includes a beautiful steelbook featuring masks and weapons from the movie. You’ll get 4K Blu-ray and standard Blu-ray formats of the Director’s Cut: Roadshow Version and Director’s Cut. The only real difference between the two is the inclusion of an intermission and overture on the Roadshow Version. You’ll also find heaps of bonus features packed into the trio of discs.
Preordering at Amazon or Walmart means you won’t be charged until the steelbook ships, and you’ll be eligible for any discounts between now and May 27.
As of April 17, Walmart is sold out of preorders priced at $40. We'd expect Amazon's price to drop to match once Walmart restocks preorders.

The Kingdom of Heaven Director’s Cut adds around 45 minutes of new content--so even if you’ve seen the original a thousand times, you’ll find the director’s cut to be worth a watch. The additional minutes expand on the story of Balian (Orlando Bloom) as he joins his father, Baron Godfrey (Liam Neeson), during the crusaders' trek toward Jerusalem. It’s an action-packed film with a good dose of political intrigue--and the expanded director’s cut is often cited as the best version of its nuanced story.
