Riot Games to host League of Legends tournament at PAX Australia
Oceanic League of Legends tournament finals to be held at PAX Australia; winning team to compete at Gamescom.
Riot Games will be hosting the first Oceanic League of Legends tournament final at the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) in Australia.
Following last month's opening of a League of Legends server in the Oceanic region, Riot Games announced an online tournament, inviting the teams who finished in the top four places to go head to head in the finals at PAX Australia.
The four teams will face off for an opportunity to represent the Oceanic region at Gamescom, where they can compete for an International Wildcard spot in season 3 of the League of Legends World Championship Series.
More details about the tournament can be found at the Riot Games Oceania website. Riot Games will also have a booth at PAX Australia.
Riot Games established a Sydney office in February to head up operations in the Oceania region.
PAX Australia will take place this year from July 19 to July 21 at the Melbourne Showgrounds. The GameSpot Australia team will be bringing coverage from the show floor, so stay tuned for more updates.
