Currently, the soccer-with-cars indie game is only available on PC and PlayStation 4, where it launched as a free PlayStation Plus title as part of a partnership with Sony. In an interview with Red Bull, Psyonix CEO and studio director Dave Hagewood was asked if the game would ever come to Microsoft's Xbox One.
"[Laughs] I can't say," he replied. "We're looking at all kinds of platforms and there may be some announcements coming up at some point. Hopefully before the end of the year, but I can't confirm that."
On August 3, marketing VP Jeremy Dunham confirmed to GameSpot that Rocket League is in the process of being ported to other systems.
"Yes, we are definitely bringing Rocket League to additional platforms," he said at the time. "We'll have an official announcement of what platforms those are (and when) a little further down the line."
Rocket League has been one of the surprise hits of the year. The game has passed 5 million downloads across PC and PlayStation 4, selling over than 1 million copies on Steam alone. Psyonix has continued to keep up interest in the game through DLC.
