Rocket League on Xbox One Lacks Cross-Platform Play With PC, PS4
Xbox One players will only be matched up against other Xbox One players.
While the Xbox One version of Rocket League will offer some exclusive content, it'll be lacking one thing that the PS4 and PC versions both support: cross-platform play.

In response to a question about being able to play with or against PS4 and PC players, the Rocket League Twitter account responded, "The Xbox platform doesn't allow for cross-play matchmaking between other systems as a general practice across all titles."
Players on PS4 and PC are able to play with each other, albeit with some restrictions on joining a party or communicating with those on a different platform. Still, the most important part of the feature--playing with people on another system--is there, and it'll be missing on Xbox One.
Cross-platform play isn't unheard of Xbox Live, though it is rare. Shadowrun supported it between Xbox 360 and PC players back in 2007, while IDARB did the same with Xbox One and PC earlier this year and Fable Legends will when it's released.
The Xbox One version of Rocket League, announced last night, comes with a pair of exclusive vehicles themed around Halo and Gears of War (seen in the gallery above). The plan is to be "aggressive" with supporting DLC on the platform following its release in February 2016.
