Atari has announced that the third installment in the Roller Coaster Tycoon series has gone gold and will roll into US retail stores on November 2. The theme park and roller coaster simulation adds several new features, including fireworks displays, day-to-night environmental changes, and the ability to ride the attractions from a first-person view.

Coaster-sim enthusiasts can also participate in a preorder promotion featuring exclusive content. Three rides designed by professional coaster designer John Wardley will be downloadable with preorders from all outlets, and a fourth coaster will be accessible depending on which retailer the preorder is placed with.
