SCEA spending big on SOCOM II marketing
SCEA announces details of its upcoming multimillion dollar marketing campaign for SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs.
Sony Computer Entertainment America has today announced that it will be backing up the launch of SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs with a multimillion dollar marketing campaign. The tagline "Choose Your Teammates Wisely" will appear in national TV advertising as well as in print and in online campaigns.
"Backed by widespread marketing support, SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs, delivers a compelling new gameplay experience to gamers this holiday season," said Ami Blaire, director of product marketing, SCEA. "Through dedicated programs across broadcast, print, Web sites, major retailers, and the e-SEALs team, we are generating awareness and excitement nationwide for the next evolution in this successful franchise."
TV advertisements for SOCOM II will show both single- and multiplayer game footage and will air on FOX, NBC, UPN, CBS, and the WB. The SOCOM II print advertising campaign will be designed to showcase the different environments that the action will take place in, and will run in consumer, men's lifestyle, and military-themed publications from November through January.
Developed by Zipper Interactive and scheduled for release on November 4, SOCOM II will challenge single players or teams of players with protecting America by carrying out covert missions all over the world. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the game.
