Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game is coming to current-gen consoles, Ubisoft confirmed during its Ubisoft Forward event. The re-release, called the Complete Edition, is coming sometime this holiday season to PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Stadia. It will cost $15 and be available for UPlay+ subscribers.

As it's the Complete Edition, it will include the DLC from the original game: Knives Chau and Wallace Wells. An extended trailer showed off the iconic pixel-based art style and chiptune music. You can play with up to four players locally or online, as well as compete in subspace mini-games like dodgeball.

Now Playing: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition Reveal Trailer | Ubisoft Forward 2020

Scott Pilgrim was delisted from both the Xbox 360 and PS3 digital stores in 2014, locking off any potential new buyers. Fans have been requesting for it to come back, and it has gained momentum with hints from some people closely associated with the project. Ubisoft had teased it was aware of a desire to see the game return, but it wasn't until Ubisoft Forward that anything was stated officially.

Just ahead of the Ubisoft Forward broadcast, film director Edgar Wright, who helmed the live-action adaptation, told fans to keep an eye on the Twitter feed of Brian Lee O'Malley, anticipating a likely announcement. Sure enough, O'Malley quickly tweeted about the news.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World is a 2D beat-em-up that's inspired by both the Scott Pilgrim movie and the original graphic novel series. The creator of the graphic novels, Bryan Lee O'Malley, worked on the game's cutscenes, while the soundtrack comes from Anamanaguchi. While in the style of a retro game, you'll level up over the course of a playthrough, earning new skills along the way.

Some people are actually crying about how their "rare" delisted game is now not so rare anymore.

Weird.

I mean, I can understand if it was some limited run physical game, but since when do people care about digital games rarity?

I bought it years ago with my 360 but after i made the move to the Xbox One the game was left behind. Never bought the DLC's i might get those now if the price is right.

I'm excited for this and will buy it right away. I almost got it for the PS3, but it was taken off the market like a week before I was able to get it. Really bummed me out.

Pretty much called it when the trailer dropped, I did cover a blog on the 10th Anniversary on GameSpot over a month ago.
