Scotty Bowman Consults for NHL FaceOff

989 Sports announced that Detroit Red Wing coach Scotty Brown will be lending his expertise to NHL FaceOff 2000 for the PlayStation after signing a deal with the developer to consult and provide plays for the game. "I was honored to be able to consult on NHL FaceOff 2000," said Scotty Bowman. "This is the hockey video game that the players play, and after meeting with 989 Sports, I know why. They really pay attention to detail and are meticulous about including every element of offensive and defensive strategies."

This year's NHL FaceOff title features the new NHL teams and players along with an enhanced artificial intelligence engine. New Jersey Devils play-by-play action announced by Mike Emmrick with ESPN's Darran Pang providing game commentary.

NHL FaceOff 2000 for the PlayStation is scheduled to ship in October.
