See All of the Affinity Victories and Ultimate Units in Civilization: Beyond Earth

Sweet, sweet victory.

Of the five victory conditions in Civilization: Beyond Earth, three are specific to an affinity. They require dedicating yourself to a certain belief about the evolution of humanity and taking it to it's logical extremes. In doing so, you unlock the strangest, most powerful units in the game, which come in handy in case any other civ takes issue with your beliefs. Each of the three videos below details how to achieve an affinity-specific victory and shows off these city-killing units in action. Enjoy!

Harmony

For the civilization that views alien life as equals and endeavors to understand them, shepherd them, and become one with them. Also the path to choose if you want to control a kaiju or shoot lasers from a hovering space jellyfish.

Purity

For the civilization that believes the Earth way was the best way and wants to remake all other planets in her image. Even if that involves constructing a tremendous hovering arsenal bristling with guns.

Supremacy

For the civilization that is tired of the limitations of the flesh and believes that through robotics and cybernetics, we can be better, faster, stronger. And who would like to introduce anyone who thinks otherwise to a towering four-legged war machine.

<< LINK REMOVED >> No. This only shows 3/5 victory paths, and they all require you to play differently throughout the course of the match. The other two are:

Domination: Crush all other Civ's militarily.

Contact: This is basically a science victory, but requires finding and exploring specific ruins on the map, which could involve a military conflict.

The endgame content in this game is pretty great, crazy battles can occur when every civilization has advanced enough.

404 = Best article ever!

TBH, I thought there would be a lot more here to read. Pretty dissapointed.. Was looking forward to reading up on the different types of military units and Affinity Ultimates.

I love that this is in the GS-News, yet I'm glad the links aren't working.

That's part of the fun of replaying this game, how far can it go.

I'm loving the upgrades as they come...yet love the surprise.

(I ended up lv11 Harmony on my longest playthrough)

@MMaestro @vannhagen

It's funny cause it's true.

that's nearly like an ending I got after 401-turns...I guess I was high-level spied-on? Maybe?

<< LINK REMOVED >> Yeah I had a lot of fun playing the game; but when you win all you get is a picture and some dialogue, same as with every tech you discover and every wonder you build.

I hope they add some more flushed out endings with the first DLC, they aren't really very satisfying as they are.

@implodinggoat @gargungulunk

Yea, the game is what it's all about, it has that addicting pace that turns hours into minutes, yet I was surprised when it ended with no real merit.

I thought about reloading a save and trying to divert the assumed threat...But I'll just start a new game tomorrow and keep in mind that apparently, espionage is more of a threat than maybe once thought...
