For its part, Sony has said PlayStation fans can look forward to an "unprecedented rush" of big games for the PlayStation 4 in 2016. Nintendo, meanwhile, plans to start talking more about the NX this year.

In addition, hours spent gaming on Xbox One and Xbox 360 during Christmas week 2015 (Dec. 20 – Dec. 27) rose compared to last year, though a percent increase figure was not disclosed.
