See Zombies During Day And Night In This New State Of Decay 2 Concept Art

More concept art emerges.

As part of its weekly concept art reveal campaign, developer Undead Labs has shared two new pieces of art for its upcoming zombie shooter State of Decay 2.

It's the same scene, but one is during the day and the other at night. According to Undead Labs, "Lighting can deceptively sound simple but every facet of geometry needs to be considered in how we light the game." You can use the slider tool to quickly compare the two images.

This art is not necessarily representative of something from State of Decay 2, the developer explained.

"This is a very early piece back when we were working out what a slightly more urban environment might look like, and you shouldn't expect to see it verbatim," the studio said. "What you can expect to see is what we we're really doing, which was figuring out what our colors should be under various lighting conditions. It was rigged specifically so we could play with different levels of night and day. In fact, there are two versions of this exact piece. This one is rigged for day, and the other is rigged for night."

You can see the concept art that Undead Labs released in the two previous weeks here.

State of Decay 2 was announced back at E3 2016 for Xbox One and PC. It's a four-player co-op game, rather than the MMO Undead had discussed previously.

All we've heard about State of Decay 2 so far is that its world will be "substantially larger" than the first game's and that it will allow co-op players to split up.
