Sega announces Soccer Slam
Sega releases information on and screens from a new GameCube soccer title.
Sega announced a new title today, Soccer Slam for the Nintendo GameCube. The game is an arcade-style three-on-three soccer game. Focusing more on individual achievement rather than teamwork, Soccer Slam's gameplay will emphasize speed, skill, and aggression. Players will collect power-ups and bonuses that will unlock secret characters, locations, and videos. Gameplay will encourage players to take out opponents with rushes and slide tackles. The game is set to offer five modes: quick start, arcade, all-star challenge, tourney, and continental cup.
Developed by Visual Concepts, Soccer Slam is set for a spring 2002 release.
