Sega Hires New Execs
Sega of America announces the hiring of Munawwar Ali Daimee and Steven McIntosh to promote the Dreamcast.
Sega of America has announced that it is adding Munawwar Ali Daimee and Steven McIntosh to its roster of executives who are intent on promoting the Dreamcast console in the US. Daimee will serve as the company's new vice president of quality assurance and Steven McIntosh as vice president of information technology.
Munawwar Ali Daimee will be responsible for establishing quality systems to cover all aspects of business for Sega of America and will focus on outgoing product quality, customer service and satisfaction, and software/hardware quality assurance. He previously managed quality aspects at SUN Microsystems.
According to Sega, Steven McIntosh will manage all application software, networks, desktops, telecommunications, and projects related to information gathering, reporting, storage, and retrieval. He previously managed information services for Hitachi PC Corperation. Sega has also stated that Tim Flynn has been promoted to national sales director. "With sales numbers exceeding even our own expectations, Tim's promotion to national sales director will help us fulfill the ongoing needs of our growing list of key retailers into 2000,'' said Chris Gilbert, senior vice president of sales, Sega of America. "His forward-thinking vision, including his commitment to growing our installed base, will help drive the momentous sales figures for Sega Dreamcast. We look forward to his leadership as more traditional retailers and e-tailers sign on to carry Sega Dreamcast hardware, peripherals, and software.''
