Sega New Challenge Conference Games
Sega shows off the next game from the makers of Phantasy Star, and more.
Besides Sega's announcements of network plans and price cuts, the New Challenge Conference '99 also gave the company a chance to show off several new games. To die-hard Sega fans, the announcement of a new game by the Phantasy Star team known as Project Ares, was surely the most momentous. A fully polygonal RPG, Project Ares is said to be Sega's attempt at creating a new standard in RPGs.
In other RPG news, Sega also showed off Baldur's Gate for the Dreamcast. This will be the first game scheduled for Sega's worldwide Dreamcast Heat network. We've also included a few snapshots of other games displayed at the conference. Enjoy.
