Sega Signs Brendan Shanahan

Sega of America announced on Monday that is has signed Detroit Red Wings hockey great Brendan Shanahan as spokesperson for its upcoming NHL 2K for the Dreamcast. According to the company, Shanahan will contribute advice for the game and will participated in marketing efforts.

"Sega Sports is proud to be associated with Brendan, one of the most prolific goal-scorers in the NHL today," said Martha Hill, director of sports marketing, Sega of America. "In building our brand, we look for athletes who embody the passion of their sport and who consistently perform at the top of their profession - Brendan does this and makes it look easy. That connection to our brand demonstrates the authenticity of our games as well as our passion and commitment to sports."
