You play as a shinobi who has pledged to protect a young lord, but when the lord is kidnapped by a samurai, the shinobi's arm is severed. The nimble warrior, who becomes known as "the one-armed wolf," eventually gets fitted with a prosthetic arm that can be customized with various tools, and using stealth and powerful ninja abilities, he sets out to rescue the lord, taking down all enemies in his path.

The president of From Software emphasized that Sekiro is not part of the Soulsborne series and recently told GameSpot that Sekiro is "probably even more challenging than previous From games." That said, death is also handled differently in Sekiro--it can be used as a helpful tactic, but use it too often, and you'll lose progress.
