A new breeze is blowing in The Windy City today, as Seven Lights, a new game developer and publisher, announced that it is officially open for business. The Chicago-based company was formed by Tim Harris, Mike McCarthy, and Dave Shuck and will create console and PC games.
The company's first product will be The Continuum, which is due for release in early 2007. Details on the game, including platform, haven't been released, but a statement from the company today says that all Seven Lights products will be "completely scalable, allowing players to explore their favorite aspects of online entertainment in a personalized arena."
At the heart of Seven Light games is the development of players' characters through trading with others online, purchasing abilities and characteristics, and playing the game. Each game will also be supported by expansion packs and downloadable content.
[UPDATE] The Web site for The Continuum has gone live, giving the public the first details on the game. It is described as combining "classic turn-based wargaming, collectibility, and RPG character development" and is based on the comics of the same name.
