BioWare has announced that Shadows of Undrentide, the first expansion pack for its highly popular PC role-playing game Neverwinter Nights, has gone gold and will ship to stores in the coming weeks. Shadows of Undrentide was codeveloped by BioWare and Floodgate, a new studio formed by former employees of Looking Glass, which was known for creating such games as System Shock 2 and Thief: The Dark Project.

Shadows of Undrentide adds a good deal of new content, including 16 new monsters, three new tilesets, and five new prestige classes, which are highly specialized classes with unique abilities. The expansion pack also includes a new campaign that is set in an entirely different area of the Forgotten Realms. The new campaign promises more than 20 hours of gameplay.

We'll have a full review of Shadows of Undrentide in the coming weeks.
