I made this big long four paragraph explanation of why Shenmue III would still work even though it is considered a niche game but I wasn't signed in and the comment was lost.

Instead I'll say this, Quantic Dream, leaving the rest up to you intellectual minds.

Also, Yu Suzuki and Mark Cerny have been having way too many meetings and discussions as of late even if they are just old buddies.

I never got shenmue when it came out despite my buddy telling me how good it was. I feel like I missed out.

Please make another one!! I dunno that its gameplay would hold up nowadays, but it was such a classic just do it anyway!

Sony should support him and let him make Shenmue 3 exclusively for PS4!!! OMG! - *mind blown*!!!

If they announce Shenmue 3 for the PS4 it will be one HELL of a year one for playstation 4. All those guys at Shenmuedojo , LANDC and the guys, who never gave up hope, will be vindicated .

Shenmue 3 is so beyond overdue. There's no reason not to included the first two games, or release an HD version of them. Although at this point it would make more sense to inclede the entire saga on one or two blurays. Otherwise newcomers will be very lost. The dvd that came with Shenmue 2 did an okay job of catching people up, but nothing beats playing all the way through. Let's hope we finally get to play the whole story. If it's newsbof some crappy dance game or something I think I'm gonna have to give up on Shenmue 3

lol I was hoping since it was a sega franchise and sega is tight with nintendo that they would release shenmue 3 on Wii U. That would get a few consoles sold.

Theres's a chance for it to occur on the PS4. Did anyone ever knew that Shenmue Online was in development for the PC but they canned it. The PS4's architecture can handle Yu's version!

I would like see Shenmue HD Collection on all formats and think lot fans might pick game up.

In my option that Shenmue was one best Sega and dreamcast games ever been made. And think PS4, PC best option for next Shenmue

Next to Miyamoto this guy is a legend in the industry.

If Shenmue 3 ever gets made ,I think it should be on PC. In case you didn't know , a very large portion of the Shenmue fan base now plays this using emulators. Emulators made this game immortal.

I personally think the technology and a few concepts used in Shenmue were more important than the game itself. Which I didn't have a lot of fun playing. But I only played the first and I'm an idiot. So what do I know ?

The Shenmue fanbase has been working tirelessly for 12 years, and I believe this to be the culmination.

12 years of campaigns, petitions, spamming the crap out of sega and tweetathons asking for a continuation of what WE believe is the one of the most important, immersive, unique video game series' ever created. About 1 month ago Sony announced that as a result of this overwhelming fan input, it wants Shenmue on the PS4 (and Yakuza). They said they should have some news about this coming in the next 6 months. In 4 months from now, it's the GDC, where a Sony guy is going on stage with the creator of Shenmue.

They told us it was impossible. We told them "do you know the four wude?"

Man this guy is a legend , so great and pure with the fealing of making games for the people.

Shenmue was amazing for it's time, but i don't think that the formula would work on today standards. It was QTE after QTE.

Sega, please cut the cheque and let Yu Sazuki complete this series.

Shenmue 3 Will be On Next-Gen!!!

I recently purchased a Dreamcast to replay both Shenmue and D2. And they still hold up beautifully.

As you can see my avatar (not very well sized, but who cares) is ryo hazuki putting money into a coke machine (and a real coca cola machine, not the bell woods cola that was in the pal release). I have had this avatar for quite a while. I first experienced shenmue when I saw a friend play it on his DC back in 1999. I was amazed, and in 2005 I bought a DC and shenmue 1 and 2. Playing them to completion was like a religious experience, there is something very special about them, and you can feel the vision the creators had for the series especially by the end of the 2nd game. Im pretty much bored with gaming now, even GTA 5 doesnt keep my interest for long and the next gen machines leave me cold. Shenmue 3 is what it would take for me to restore my interest and faith in the direction of gaming. I want to see less dlc, subscriptions, less online multiplayer focus, less updates and patches, less generic third person and first person shooters. I want to see genuinely new experiences just like Shenmue was back then, and what it could bring in the future.

They seriously just need to make Shenmue 3 look and feel like it would have if it had been made on the xbox 1. I mean.. original xbox.

It would be cheap, and the people who played (and continue to play and love) shenmue would still enjoy it just as much.

Retro games are big right now, this would work perfect.

Too bad no one listens to this kind of stuff.
