Silent Hill 2 Remake Dev Working With Konami Again On A Mystery Game
"We are confident that fans will be just as excited about our collaboration as we are."
Bloober Team and Konami are staying in business together following the successful launch of the Silent Hill 2 remake in 2024. The Polish developer said today that it has signed a deal with Konami to make a "new game based on Konami's IP." There is no word on what that IP is, however.
Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno said in a statement that "the success of Silent Hill 2 speaks for itself." He added, "We can't reveal too many details at this time, but we are confident that fans will be just as excited about our collaboration as we are."
As for when Bloober Team's new game may be revealed, Babieno said it will be "when the time is right."
It was also confirmed that Konami will be the publisher and rights-holder to the game, whatever it might be. This makes sense, of course, given that the game is based on a Konami IP.
The Silent Hill 2 remake sold more than 1 million copies in its first three days when it launched on PS5 and PC in October 2024, with sales climbing to 2 million a few months later.
In addition to whatever this new game with Konami is, Bloober Team is developing the survival-horror game Cronos: The New Dawn, which is set for release later this year. Speaking about this game, game director/designer Wojciech Piejko told GameSpot that it's done making "shitty" games and is setting out to prove that the Silent Hill 2 remake was not a fluke.
