Arcades might be a rare sight these days, but that doesn't mean that you can't bring that magic to your home. Dell currently has a wonderful deal on the coin-munching 1991 Simpsons game that recently got an authentic replica from specialist company Arcade1Up. Right now, you can get the cabinet and matching stool for only $300. This matches the cabinet's Black Friday price, but Dell is sweetening the pot by throwing in a $150 promotional gift card to use on Dell's online store (h/t Wario64). The Terminator Arcade1Up cabinet is also eligible for this promotion.

Like the original Simpsons arcade game, this one features the most famous family in Springfield busting heads all over town. You'll be able to play as either Homer, Marge, Bart, or Lisa, and there's room for four players to team up and save the day. Simpsons Bowling is also included in this cabinet, which comes complete with a custom riser, lit marquee sign, and a molded coin slot.

Even better, there's a modern touch of Wi-Fi built into the cabinet, so you can join up with fellow arcade fans around the world to have some multiplayer fun.

I like it but 300 dollars is a bit much. I think it might be nice for an office or some other place. Like a place where you eat fast food. Then you could play some arcade machines for a small fee (but you need some coin / credit device thingy unless people get to play for free).

@simonthekid7: but maybe kids and teens today do not think arcade games are cool, like in the 80s and 90s. They have very advanced phones and things to play on at home compared to kids back then. I think the arcade was cool, it was kind of more social. For me, i did not grow up in a city or a country with many arcade games or arcades (and arcade games in sweden cost more like five quarters for one credit to play, not one quarter for one credit, so it was super expensive).

I think the closest thing to an arcade where i grew up were the toy stores where kids sometimes gathered to play new games on the demo stations. Sometimes wearing big jackets and warm pants which got kind of hot in a 20 degrees indoor environment after a while.

I've seen them as low as $150 at some stores.

While the concept of Arcade 1-Up is awesome only getting 1-5 games per machine is pretty lame. If they had at least 30+ games in per machine then more people will be interested.

@dragonsama: at least 30+ what does it even mean.

also ofc rasberry generation expects all devices to have 500+ games since thats possible. but it feel those are shit because they inflate the value of every game and most people will never bother more than glance at the games.

id love a simpsons dedicated arcade but a big doesnt fit and a small one is a toy

@dragonsama: I got a first gen Street Fighter 2 cab. It's not great. I got it on sale for $180, but you can't even access the dip switches and it's on highest difficulty.

Converting the cab to a raspberry pi emulation cab and swapping in Sanwa parts has been a project on the backburner for years now.
