Sleeping Dogs Dev Reveals PC Open-World Action Game Triad Wars

Square Enix can turn anything into rubbish with their online BS. That will be the only way this fails.

Think there making this rubbish to try and turn people away from PC.

I expect it will have deeper game mechanics but that`s easy when you only have GTA and its clones.

Doesn't seem that bad to me. I've signed up for beta access, hopefully I'll get to check it out.

As for SD2, well... i think that will be announced next year or so, after this project is launched.

*Sigh*. Another F2P online game. GTAV is still the undisputed king of open world game design.

Out of the open world games that where released close to it (GTA 4, Mafia 2, Saints Row 3/4, Just Cause 2), Sleeping Dogs was my favorite, I loved the somewhat predictable story, the combat, the driving, the great atmosphere of the sort of Hong Kong city (especially the raining days). I didn't liked the low difficulty of the police chases, the challenge was to not run too fast to loose them. Anyway I was looking forward to a sequel, to a new story...sadly disapointed that it's gonna be a GTA Online clone. Also it looks like they are just reusing the old assets, so not too many new things.

Maybe a bit of topic, but can't help it, it reminds me of the Legacy of Kain online game...that's exactly what fans were waiting for.

So the community says we like Sleeping Dogs. And they come back with this.....A bland pastiche of a Farmville: Gangster Edition that only superficially uses Hong Kong as a vague backdrop?!

...What? And we wonder why some game companies/publishers fail? They simply don't/cant REALLY listen to their communities.

Sleeping Dogs was a surprisingly good single-player sandbox game that immersed you into a previously unheard of environment in Hong Kong. A Hong Kong that felt alive, articulated, with the narration providing some nice thematic elements and had a few notes of mature social commentary about a place we never knew of before. All held together with solid gameplay that mixed it up.

Yeah, I'm sure they're doing what the community asked them to do. Somehow I must have missed the part where all the fans were saying "You know what we need instead of SG2? A semi-MMO"

Plus, are devs seriously still trying to sell the "Every person will experience a different story" crap? Everyone? Are they planning on maxing out at 5 players?

Getting Sleeping Dogs for PS4 next month as I missed it.

I suggest they rename this game into 'Sleeping Pills Triad Wars', cause mp only games are boring and [they] will put you to sleep faster than a boot to the face.

if its a online game that plays exactly like Sleeping Dogs.. than great! I hope it comes to consoles...

but if its not.. and not coming to consoles.. than whatever...

Seriously, the game's name sounds like some FB game from Zynga

Seems a helluva lot like The Godfather 2.
