Snoop Dogg contributes to True Crime track
Activision touts Streets of L.A. soundtrack.
Activision said today that the soundtrack for the upcoming True Crime: Streets of L.A. for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox will have the largest collection of songs ever found in a video game, including more than 50 original tracks from West Coast rap and hip-hop artists--not the least of which will be Snoop Dogg.
Other artists contributing original tracks include Bad Azz, Caviar, Damizza, E-40, Eazy-E Jr., Jay-O Felony, Kam, Kokain, Lil 1/2 Dead, Sly Boogy, Westside Connection (which includes Ice Cube, Mac-10, and WC), and Young Billionaires.
There are also licensed tracks from DOC, Ice-T, and N.E.R.D., among others. Activision previously announced a partnership with Vybe Squad, LLC to develop a double-CD release, featuring the game soundtracks original songs, for distribution this fall by Universal.
Prior to True Crime, Snoop Dogg composed an original track for Sony Computer Entertainments Gran Turismo III.
