Sonic Colors Ultimate Preorders Discounted At Walmart

Sonic Colors Ultimate is almost here. The remaster of the 2010 platformer releases September 7 for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game originally released on Wii and Nintendo DS and was announced earlier this year as part of Sonic's 30th anniversary celebration. Sonic Colors: Ultimate is still available to preorder, and you can get a cute bonus by securing your copy ahead of release. Walmart is currently selling preorders at a discount, dropping the price for the Switch, PS4, and Xbox One versions to $34 (down from $40).

Your best bet right now is to preorder from Walmart, as the retailer is selling physical copies for $34 ahead of release. The Sonic Colors remaster is based on the Nintendo Wii version, which has both 3D action and side-scrolling sequences (the DS version was pure 2D side-scrolling). Sonic Colors follows the Blue Blur on an adventure to thwart (once again) Doctor Eggman's quest for world domination. Set in outer space, Sonic Colors sees Sonic visit numerous planets, racing and fighting his way through creative levels and boss battles. While Sonic has had an up and down history since its early '90s heyday, Sonic Colors is one of the better regarded Sonic games to release over the past 25 years.
