@Lerry757 Just think from the companies' perspective. You're losing a lot of money from greedy retailers selling used copies of your games. They can't boycott used games as Xbox One proved so what do you do?

Pre-order bonuses: People buy more games new, more money for devs. Increase business in retailers. Fans can support their fav franchises/devs and get extra content as well. Everyone wins!

Plus no-one is forcing you to get the pre-order bonuses.

@Lerry757 well from what i've been reading(besides gamespot) deadly six bonus edition will be included in stores(while supplies last) without the need to preorder it.

There comes a point in development where you need to stop developing new content for the game and push to debug and get the game to "gold" for launch. After the game goes gold and is pushed out to the factories, you can wrap up the extra content that didn't make it(with approval from management).

@rtircoklled Unlikely, but I guess we'll have to wait unti GameStop and/or other retailers update their info to see if 3DS gets this too. I've only seen a handful of games with DLC (Fire Emblem, Style Savvy. Theatrhythm, SMT4 and NSMB2 are all that come to mind)...so who knows if they will actually explore the option on 3DS.

@SNESNOSTALGIA2 It pains me to say that I never played Nights. Never had a Sega system always Nintendo. I did recently purchase it on XBLA though so I'm looking forward to playing it finally :).

@PStrife This one I'm ok with though. It's an extra spin-off scenario that isn't part of the main game, so it being included like this is fine by me...especially since we're getting it for free anyway. Now From Ashes for ME3 for example? That should have been on disc. That was sad and disappointing. The ONLY redeeming factor about that was that it came with the CE, which is what I purchased...but they screwed everybody else and that was low.

@freedom01 If it's hard for SEGA to bring Yakuza 5 to the west, I don't think Shenmue has much of a chance.

@freedom01 I would like Shenmue III, but remember when Sega made the first 2? Yeah, it got them damn near bankrupt. I don't think Sega has the money for another Shenmue game right now.
