Sonic Movie Casts Two Actors With Ties To Marvel Cinematic Universe
Adam Pally and Neal McDonough join the Sonic movie.
It's been a big week for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Jim Carrey confirmed he's playing the evil Dr. Robotnik, while Ben Schwartz announced that he's voicing Sonic. Now, even more casting details about the film have been revealed.
Collider reports that Adam Pally and Neal McDonough will also have roles in the film. Both have ties to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Pally played Gary the Camerman in Iron Man 3, while McDonough portrayed Timothy "Dum Dum" Dugan in Captain America: The First Avenger. McDonough is also known for his roles in Minority Report and Timeline.
The movie has a pretty absurd-sounding plot. Westworld actor James Marsden plays a police officer from South Dakota who travels to San Francisco with Sonic to collect rings. Robotnik is trying to stop them. Pally plays another cop, but there are no details as of yet regarding McDonough's part.
The Sonic the Hedgehog movie will mix CG and live-action. It's being directed by Jeff Fowler, who picked up an Oscar nomination for his 2005 animated movie Gopher Broke. Deadpool 1 director Tim Miller is producing the Sonic the Hedgehog movie.
