Sony 3D HDTV bundle drops Resistance 3

i was considering buying this BECAUSE of Resistance 3. Motorstorm is a good game im sure but i never got into the series. i think ill pass now, thanks Sony :-P

why include a 3 month old game in a brand new 3DTV bundle & it's still for $500? bring it down to $400 or even less, I already have a cheap cardboard made 3d glasses which produces the same effect

I would have rather had R3 but MotorStorm: Apocalypse is supposed to make a good 3d show piece. I'm still not totally sold on this yet. PC has become my platform of choice and I think I may rather have a true 120hz monitor than 3DTV. My TV now double as a monitor so I'm actually glad this is only 24 inches and will keep some kind of decent pixel density.

man, the exclusive dual screen tech and Resistance were the major selling points for me and i was gonna get one, but now i'll pass. congrats sony, for being stingy on a $60 game you just lost a $500 sale

i was considering to get this display , but then rather got a 40" 3D sony bravia , imo better than 24" , it costs double the price but has double thie size , i recommend to get size from 40" inches up to get a good 3D effect , MSA is definitely a great 3D game which everyone owning a 3DTV should have (at least the free demo to show the effect to others)

Hmmm.. Be interesting to know why they've swapped it? Motorstorm Apocalypse is a quality game, but I'd have thought Resistance would have been more of an incentive? Who knows! Not me.

Not really interested in 3D TV, I'm happy with my standard HD one.

Ya'll should know that Amazon has some ballin' 3D tvs right now for like $500 - $700 respectively a LCD Vizio and a LED Sony Bravia. I never agreed with 3D naysayers, I just felt like the price was far too high but that the 3D hd potential once the price became more in line with current HDtvs. But now the price is right and it didn't take long at all.

I'd never by a TV 2/3 the size of my monitor.

I actually prefer this cause I was planning on buying this and the Move bundle which both used to come with Resistance 3 and I wouldn't need 2 of them.

I get the impression (and from common sense I guess) that when in the 2player mode, both players see a fullscreen image, but that image is not 3D. Thats not really made clear anywhere but thats the most logical way of doing it using the alternate frames. That doesn't explain however about the sound... both players would need headphones too surely :) As for the game switch, yeah go from a brand new full price game, to a bargain bucket one. As usual Sony giveth with one hand to get attention, then taketh away with the other :)

Not a bad deal if they would have kept in R3. But the main selling points are the glasses priced at a very cheap $70 and the TV can do splitscreen in 3D view. I would have considered buying it. Maybe I will trade my 3D TV in for seven on them.

I'm getting the TV anyway...My TV is taking its last breathes.....

I was actually considering getting this because I really wanted to get resistance 3 and a new tv. But now they just ruined it by putting this crap game in it's place.

3D is already dying . . for the 5th time in the past 100 years. People don't want it. We won't even be talking about it 5 years from now.

What a ripoff. It was overpriced before the switch, but now it is just a joke.

Sony wants those sales on Resistance 3 thats y they switched it.

Even though the screen size for this hdtv is small i like the ideo though (making ps3 3d gaming more accessible to the individual gamer / slash gamer that cant afford or wont spend 3000 for a 3d gaming experience by buying a huge tv ! I hope in the future they do a bundle like this maybe with a 28 or 32 inch telivision ! that would be great !

LG's 3D solution is crap, go check it out at your local electronics store, stick with the more expensive setup.

FYI .... The LG Cinema is supposed to have better 3D than these TV's without the expensive glasses. LG's glasses are like $10-20 (The same you get from a 3D movie theater) and it looks like your at the movies (IMAX and such)

I would find it rather difficult to play game (especially 3D ones) on a 24" screen.

Will Sony sell this bundle earlier now? Since Motorstorm Apocalypse is out now. May be better for sales? or just ditch the game altogether and knock $69.99/$59.99 of the price. $440.00 sounds better than $500.00 Maybe Motorstorm is more approachable than Resistance 3? Is the reason for the change.

I guess the 3D on restistance is not quite up to scratch for showing of the new TV.

quite a good idea, my brother has a huge 3d bravia and out of all of the 3d games i've played like Killzone 3, Mortal Kombat, Crysis 2 and Motorstorm, the best use of 3d is Motorstorm. its quite actually amazing at times

im gonna wait for the 32` one that will come with the ps4 24`, glasses and a game is not worth anything close to 500...

Guess I am just gonig to get the Resistance 3 move shooter bundle and wait for another 3DTV.

The reason for the change is simple; Resistance 3 is one of Sony's biggest fall releases. Giving it away in the bundle would lead to decreased sales for the game. Motorstorm: Apocalypse didn't sell well and has been on the market for a little while, so it's taking the place of Resistance 3.

I was considering having my wife get this for me for my B-day, and buying myself a PS3 to go with it (having enjoyed seeing other people play the series). With this bit of news, I'll now have her get me a ton of games for my other systems instead. That's 3 times now I've almost bought a PS3, then Sony changes something and I change my mind as well.

they better switch the price tag as well then...

3D TVs are too expensive just for a 3D picture (with glasses). Even 3D movies at the theater are a rip off, imo. 3D just isn't popular right now... heck, even Nintendo's 3DS is seeing some dust, but at least it doesn't cost you an arm or a leg (whichever you prefer) like a 3D television does.

@wildog2006 - It does both, but if you want each person to have their own image, it's only in 2D. If it's split-screen, both people see 3D. I read a lot of reports from people who had hands-on, and they say that, while the dual screen is nifty, there's actually a lot of ghosting of the other image on display in yours. It's not a seamless effect.

not interested in 3d gaming or 3d tv. The games aren't there yet the movies aren't there yet and the tv channels aren't there yet. price is way to high just for a 3d picture that will get a wow for a month with family and friends then end up not even used.

24" lcd for $500 or 60" DLP for $600. Hmm... :roll: My guess is they're including Motorstorm Mehpocalypse to help boost it's sales.

They don't want to give away that game for free. They know there's skrilla to be had.

i thought about getting this tv but its just a matter of time until they reformat the 3ds's tech so we can have tvs that are 3d with out glasses.

I'm not getting this, mostly because I have my TV situation already worked out, but if I WAS looking, I don't think I'd want Motorstorm. Which brings up an interesting idea... why not let the CUSTOMER choose their free game?!? Maybe from a set of selections (Uncharted, Motorstorm, Resistance, etc).

i thought they were doing away with splitscreen, and instead using the 2 separate images that usually make a game 3d to have the two glasses show entirely different images. THAT was what had me interested in this TV. if they changed that, whats the point? it's just a small 3dtv, big whoop

Motorstorm... really. So I guess they aren't banking on the game being what sells this bundle.
