Sony Blocks McDonalds Australia From Giving Away Horrifying PS5 Controllers

If they have made any of these they will be worth quite a bit to collectors if they get out in the wild

Sony´s official special edition controllers designs are generally lazy and not really creative.

I´m not really digging McD´s design but it´s bolder than Sony´s official designs.

If it's from America then I think it could work. They could do different themed controllers for different countries. Say for example, Japan, sushi theme. Italy, pizza theme. North Korea, nuke theme. India, faeces theme.

it may not look good, but is going be a rare controller skin and some collector do want it.

Heh, I'm surprised it wasn't McDonalds-themed like this at least in the North American release by default. Besides, to be honest, it's not even that bad looking. More color themes based on foods of various countries where the PS5 is being sold could work. I can imagine a baguette-themed controller in France, or a sushi-themed controller in Japan. I mean why not.

McDonalds finds new ways for those with more than 3 taste buds in their heads to hate them with a passion. Whether it be "J Balvin" and "BTS" meals or DualSense controllers you pay people on eBay to take off your hands.

I think it looks awesome, and I'm a Burger King guy in the USA.

They probably should have gone with Nintendo. It still would have been a terrible idea, but it likely would have gone over more smoothly.

This doesn't make sense. I painted my PS5 black because that horrendous looking crap doesn't go anywhere on my entertainment center. Should I prepare for a cease and desist letter?

If they bought the controllers and customized them on their own dime, what's the problem?

Wouldn’t this just be considered a custom paint job? There are controller customizers everywhere. If McDonald’s choose to buy a stock controller, paint it and then give it away I don’t understand why that’s a problem. Is Sony going to start sending cease and desist letters to the hundreds of customizers worldwide?

You know the stock situation is bad, when their promotional prize is not the console, but the freaking controller.

looks better than the original. i do wish the controller was either all white or all black. the two tone colour scheme is just horrible.
