Sony seeking The Order: 1886 trademark
PlayStation maker's mark covers "video game software"; no comment from company.
Sony has filed a trademark application with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) for The Order: 1886. The mark, applied for on April 18 and uncovered by NeoGAF, covers "Computer game software; Video game software."
A website--TheOrder1886.com--was registered privately last month. The page does not resolve to anything. No further information is available and a Sony representative was not immediately available to comment.
A number of developers are working on new franchises for the PlayStation 4, including God of War PSP developer Ready At Dawn, Capcom, and Guerrilla Games. These projects have not been announced.
