Space Empires: Starfury delayed
The planned summer release of Malfador's free-form space game is pushed back several months.
Shrapnel Games has announced a delay for Space Empires: Starfury, a free-form space adventure set in the same universe as Malfador Machinations' acclaimed Space Empires IV empire game. Previously scheduled for release this summer, the game is now on track to be complete in early September. Starfury is currently in beta testing, and the delay will let the designers incorporate more suggestions from fans and testers.
In contrast with Space Empire IV's grand scale, Space Empires: Starfury will focus on a single starship. The game features 12 highly configurable ships for players to control and upgrade. The game's open-ended gameplay will let players explore dozens of star systems and take a several different career paths, choosing the legitimate income of a merchant or the more-dangerous life of a mercenary or pirate.
