Spawn E3 2003 Preshow Report
Namco's third-person action game starring the damned superhero will appear on all three platforms.
The recent strategic partnership between Namco and Todd McFarlane Productions bore its first fruit when the software developer included the popular Spawn and another McFarlane-designed character, Necrid, in Soul Calibur II. Now, Namco Hometek, developer of Dead to Rights, is hard at work on a third-person action adventure game starring Spawn himself. Currently titled Spawn, the game will contain more than 30 levels spread across seven distinctive environments, and Todd McFarlane will contribute to the development of the gameplay and storyline.
Little is known so far about the mechanics of Spawn, though we do know you'll be able to perform a variety of combo attacks using Spawn's axe, called Agony, as well as an assortment of heavy weaponry. A full complement of Spawn's hell powers will also be available for wreaking havoc on enemies that come from both heaven and hell. The game will also feature environments that contain interactive and destructible elements.
We'll bring you more on Spawn as soon as it becomes available. Stay tuned.
