Spelunky daily challenges come to PS3 and Vita versions
Popular feature from the PC version comes to PS3 and Vita.
The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of indie hit Spelunky have now incorporated daily challenges, developer Derek Yu has announced.
The well-received feature was first included in the Steam version of Spelunky. With it, a new dungeon is generated for everyone each day, and players are given just the one chance to play it. At the end, users' scores are tallied on a leaderboard.
"When [Spelunky PS3 and Vita developer] Blit heard about this new mode," said Spelunky creator Derek Yu on the PlayStation Blog, "they couldn’t wait to implement it on PSN. That’s one of the great things about working with them--they love their work and relish the technical challenges of doing an awesome port. It’s right in line with the spirit of Spelunky and the spirit of the Daily, which, as you may have guessed, you can now play on PSN as part of this update."
Alongside the addition of daily challenges, the PS3 and Vita versions of Spelunky have also fixed a number of bugs.
