Spend $1,800 On Jewelry, Get A PS5

The holiday season is coming up, and if you're looking to spend a lot of money on jewelry, you could get a PlayStation 5 for "free." Premium jewelry brand Helzberg has announced a new and unexpected promotion whereby shoppers who spend $1,800 or more can get a PS5 at no extra cost.

The deal is available only in-store, and you can use the store-locator feature to find a shop near you. Thanks to Wario64 for spotting this offer.

Helzberg sells a lot of expensive items, so if you were already looking for an engagement or wedding ring, a gold chain, or a watch, your purchase could end up qualifying for the free PS5.

Helzberg didn't clarify which PS5 model is included in this promotion, but the image above from the retailer's website shows the PS5 with a disc drive. The PS5 slim digital edition is currently on sale for the holidays, with its price dropping by $70 down to $380 through December 24.

In other PlayStation hardware news, Sony's more powerful PS5 Pro just launched for $700. GameSpot's PS5 Pro review said the console is best for people who have money to spare and want the latest version of the system. "For everyone else, a standard PS5 will do just fine," our review said.

The PS5 Pro's high price point has not negatively affected sales, according to Sony, in part because the system was never meant to appeal to anyone beyond the hardcore crowd.
