Spider-Man 2 Dev Shares Important Message You Need To Know For Launch
Players are advised to download a patch to have the best experience.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is out now, but ahead of that, developer Insomniac Games issued an important notice to fans about how to have the best experience with the PlayStation 5 game at launch.
Spider-Man 2 went gold in late September, and since then, Insomniac has been working on "notable enhancements," the studio said on X/Twitter. As such, Insomniac recommends that people download an update, version 1.001.002, prior to getting started. No one has to, though, and the game is playable from start to finish without the patch. The game has no internet requirement.
People who buy Spider-Man 2 digitally don't have to do anything if they preload the game because the 1.001.002 patch will be automatically applied.
As for what's in the update, it includes "polish" that should improve the opening sequence of the game specifically. It also has "other general refinements," including additional accessibility options.
"We appreciate your support and can't wait for you to experience our latest adventure for yourselves," Insomniac said.
