Spider-Man Creator Stan Lee's Life Is Being Turned into an Action Movie--Report

Stan Lee's cameos are a regular part of Marvel movies, but the comic book legend could be heading to the big screen in a very different form. It has been reported that the rights to Lee's life story have been bought for a potential action movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lee has sold his life rights to Fox, who produce the big screen version of the X-Men and The Fantastic Four. Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, who have previously produced movies such as Twilight, The Maze Runner, and the upcoming Power Rangers, are overseeing the project.

The site reports that rather than turn Lee's life story into a straight biopic, the studio is looking to adapt it into a period action adventure, with the tone of Kingsman: The Secret Service or "Roger Moore's 007."

Lee's first break in the comics industry came in 1961, when he co-created the Fantastic Four with artist Jack Kirby, after years of struggling as a writer for a variety of publishers. In the following years he helped create such as now-legendary superheroes as Spider-Man, Hulk, the X-Men, and Iron Man.

As the THR notes, no writer has yet been hired to develop the movie.
