Spider-Man: Miles Morales Buying Guide: Where To Purchase
Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a PS5 launch title, and if you want a remastered version of the first game, you can snag it with the Ultimate edition.
Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales released today alongside the PS5, making it one of Sony's biggest games of the year. Of course, Miles Morales also released on PS4 for those who aren't upgrading to PS5 just yet. And if you missed out on the first game or just want a remastered version of it on your next-gen console in just a couple of weeks, then you'll be happy to know that it's included with the Ultimate edition.
As the name suggests, the upcoming Spider-Man game follows the wall-crawling exploits of Miles Morales as he takes on the Tinkerer and their army of cyber-looking cronies. Sony and Marvel have also revealed a spectacular surprise: Miles Morales will feature a costume based on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The key feature? The costume comes with a perk that changes Miles' animation to match the movie's, making it look astounding in motion.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales standard edition
$50
The standard edition of Spider-Man: Miles Morales comes with the base game. It's available for both PS4 and PS5, and the PS4 version is eligible for a free next-gen upgrade if you decide to pick up the PS5 at a future date.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate edition
$70
The Ultimate edition of Spider-Man: Miles Morales is only available on the PS5 and comes with a voucher code for Spider-Man Remastered. This is an updated version of the original game that includes updated assets, several improvements, and the three DLC packs that make up the Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps arc.
The PS5 launch game earned a 7/10 in GameSpot's Spider-Man: Miles Morales review. "It's a bit of a bummer to see Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales trip up at certain points, but thankfully, that doesn't happen often," wrote associate editor Jordan Ramée.
"The game wastes little time jumping you into Miles' story and rarely lets up on the brakes, packing the young wall crawler's first solo outing with more superpowers and radio chatter than the game needs. And yet, despite its frantic pace, Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a compelling open-world action game that helps highlight why Miles is so special: his culture. It's Miles' unique differences and earnest attempts at figuring out how to protect his community that make him into such a wonderful hero, not the mask he wears and superpowers he wields."
