Spider-Man: The Movie GBA details

We have new information on Spider-Man's upcoming portable adventure.

Spider-Man: The Movie for the Game Boy Advance is currently in development at Digital Eclipse and will put players in the role of the amazing webslinger. The game won't mirror the movie exactly, instead offering a bit more variety in its foes as players work their way through its 11 levels. In addition to the Green Goblin, players will square off against Kraven the Hunter, the Shocker, the Vulture, and the Scorpion.

In terms of gameplay, Digital Eclipse is trying to add some rather ambitious control elements to the game. Fine control over Spidey's webbing, similar to that seen in the console versions, will be on tap, and the Z-axis technology that allows players to control Spider-Man even when he's heading toward the GBA screen will be implemented.

Players will have the standard array of spider powers at their disposal. To beef up the arsenal, the game will also provide seven power-ups, ranging from a normal power-web attack and webshield to a new super web. In addition, players will be able to unlock secret suits to enhance their abilities. For example, strength enhancement beefs up Spidey's strength and lets players take out enemies with one blow, while the armor upgrade makes players impervious to most attacks.

Spider-Man: The Movie will be available for the Game Boy Advance this May.
