Splinter Cell: Blacklist director Patrick Redding has left Ubisoft to join Warner Bros. Games Montreal.

Superannuation noticed that the developer says he's joined the Batman: Arkham Origins studio as a creative director, his LinkedIn profile states.

GamesIndustry notes that Redding joined Ubisoft Montreal in 2004 to work on Far Cry: Instincts, and was the narrative designer for Far Cry 2. He joined the Splinter Cell team in 2009.

Warner Bros. Games Montreal has also worked on the Batman: Arkham City Armoured Edition for Wii U and Lego: Legends of Chima Online.

It is unknown what project Redding is working on, but the move suggests the studio could be gearing up for a major new title.

Ghost Recon Future Soldier had a nice following until they abandoned it in Nov. 2012. When they dropped the price to $20 a lot of people picked it up and by then they already left the project. Now you can barely get into a game because of the small number of servers available. << LINK REMOVED >>

He was the narrative designer for Far Cry 2? Eww, that game was a stain on the Far Cry name, I hope he doesn't mess up whatever he's working on too.

<< LINK REMOVED >> To be fair, that movie is probably better than whatever is happening to the franchise at the moment (I haven't followed the F&F series past the fourth installment fearing how little it has been improving, eventually worsening).

@eternaldragoonx You obviously didnt play Blacklist. Before speaking, try playing the game first because you sound like an idiot. Blacklist had EVERYTHING Chaos Theory had and then some. Best SC game to date hands down. They even included upside down strangle, knife kill, knockout and cutting canvas tents with your knife for alternate routes genius. CT was slow paced by design NOT choice. Blacklist can be played in any style you choose.

Blacklist was the first SC game that I got into. I love the choice to play how you want. I can't wait til they make a PS4 Splinter Cell game.

Blacklist was Conviction with Chaos Theory aesthetics. It should have been Chaos Theory with Chaos Theory aesthetics. Forexample you cannot holster your weapon in Blacklist, you cannot jump on your own, you can only either run or walk not do anything in between (eg. jog). Blacklist has linear badly designed levels, dumb upgrade/loadout system.. Blacklist was terrible and didn't live up to SC name.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Design is everything.

But this seems like match made in heaven. Instincts, FC2, Blacklist and Origins, all games I could easily live without. He managed to avoid FC1, FC3, the 4 first SCs and the first 2 Arkhams, all games I couldn't live without.

I wonder in his new job if they will teach him how to make buggy games then focus on DLC.

<< LINK REMOVED >> What DLC? That game has no significant DLC whatsoever and it's a great game too. I only see weapon DLC. Ubisoft is a notorious for abandoning games online. Ghost Recon Future Soldier had a nice following until they abandoned it in Nov. 2012. When they dropped the price to $20 a lot of people picked it up and by then they already left the project. Now you can barely get into a game because of the small number of servers available.

<< LINK REMOVED >> They also have to teach him how to not fix game breaking bugs no matter how much they bother him, if the game sells below expectations abandon ship and announce you aren't fixing shit... but still release the DLC of course.
