During the Underlands level in Split Fiction, your path will be blocked until you can help a bird family hatch their new baby.

Comments

During Split Fiction's Underlands level, you'll meet all manner of creatures big and small. Along the way, you'll encounter a rather distressed pair of bird parents, and their new baby, who seems to be stuck in their egg.

The path forward is blocked until you can help this family hatch their new child. To do so, you're going to need to complete a specific sequence of events that culminates in a log being flung at high velocity toward the new baby. Don't worry, they're okay.

After completing the side story for the area, head back towards the Piranha-infested waters and use the stalks to quickly jump to safety. Don't forget you can use the stalks to dash upwards if you're finding it a close call.

When you arrive at the birds, you'll find you can pick any of them up. The parents, funnily enough, aren't too fond of this, but that's okay since we don't need to pick them up for this puzzle. Instead, pick up the baby bird stuck inside the egg, and place them on the left side of the seesaw.

Then, as her tree form, Zoe should grasp the log in the central area and pull it as far to the left as possible. Count down your timing, and have Mio jump on the opposite side of the seesaw to send the bird flying into the air.

At the same time, Zoe should let go of the log, which will fly forward and send the bird's egg flying towards the blocked path forward, clearing it. Conveniently, this also breaks the bird's egg open, and the happy family will hop off through the new clearing.
