Spring TGS 2001: Namco announces Xenosaga

Namco confirmed today at TGS that Project X is, in actuality, an RPG by Monolith Soft, the team behind Xenogears--the acclaimed 1998 RPG published by Square. The game is titled Xenosaga, and it will be released for the PlayStation 2 this coming winter. Aside from the game's title, however, no other details have emerged.

Monolith Soft is a wholly owned subsidiary of Namco, and Tetsuya Takahashi, the producer of Xenogears, will head development of Xenosaga.
