Square Enix Announcing New Console RPG Next Month - Not A Remake
President Yosuke Matsuda teases an announcement for December.

Final Fantasy publisher Square Enix is gearing up to announce a brand new console role-playing game next month, president Yosuke Matsuda said in the latest issue of Famitsu (via Gematsu).
"Actually, right now, we're working on a new RPG specifically for consoles and it isn't a remake," Matsuda said. "We'll start talking about it more in December and go from there."
Possible venues for the game's announcement include the 2014 Video Game Awards or Sony's PlayStation Experience, both of which will take place in early December and promise game announcements.
Of course, this is not confirmed. Square Enix could announce the game somewhere else or on its own if it wants to. GameSpot editors will be on the ground at the awards show and Sony's event, so if this game is announced at either of the shows, we'll have the news for you as it become available.
Unfortunately, Matsuda did not provide any further details about what the new console RPG might be, when it could be released, or what platforms it's targeting.
While we wait for December, what would you like to see from Square Enix's new RPG? Let us know in the comments below!
