St. Louis to appeal video game ruling
The county will appeal the decision made by the appeals court regarding the sale or rental of violent video games.
According to a Reuters report, St. Louis County will be appealing the decision made by the 8th US Circuit Court of Appeals, which deemed video games were protected under the first amendment and therefore could not be regulated under the terms of a law that would make it illegal to rent or sell violent video games to minors. The Interactive Digital Software Association filed the original appeal against St. Louis County and is currently filing a motion for the county to reimburse the association for its legal costs.
