Stalker 2 Passes Huge New Player Milestone, Dev Says It's "Hard To Comprehend"

Six million players and counting.

GSC Game World has announced that Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has surpassed a new player milestone. The Game Pass game has now eclipsed 6 million players since it launched in November 2024.

The studio said reaching this many players is "hard to comprehend." After all, Stalker 2 has had a tumultuous development, having been canceled in 2012, then revived, then delayed as the studio made the game as Russian invaded Ukraine.

"We are incredibly grateful and proud that each of you has left a unique mark in the Zone," the studio said.

Stalker 2 sold more than 1 million copies across PC and Xbox after just 24 hours back in November 2024. That doesn't tell the entire story of how many people have played it, though, as GSC has said many more people have played the game via Game Pass. Stalker 2 was a day-one launch on Game Pass.

While some Xbox games eventually come to PS5, GSC has not said if Stalker 2 will head to Sony's console as of yet.
