Star Citizen and Single-Player Mode Squadron 42 Won't Be Bundled Together for Much Longer
Heading for splitsville.
Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium has announced the date for when the pledge packages for the base game and its single-player mode Squadron 42 will split up. The breakup will take place on February 14, Valentine's Day, the developer announced on its website. That's cold, but Star Citizen is set in space after all.

News that Star Citizen and Squadron 42 pledge packages would be separated was announced during the game's holiday livestream event at the end of 2015.
On February 14, Squadron 42 will be available as a standalone game or as an add-on for Star Citizen itself. What that means is if you want to get both Star Citizen and Squadron 42 for as little as possible, you should pledge now before the two break up.
You can get the Star Citizen + Squadron 42 package for $45 from the game's website. Cloud Imperium Games has not yet said how much Squadron 42 will cost on its own after the split-up. Given that this is happening in just two weeks, we should find out soon.
Squadron 42 features characters played by high-profile actors including Gary Oldman, Mark Hamill, Gillian Anderson, Andy Serkis, John Rhys-Davies, Mark Strong, and Ben Mendelsohn, among others. You can watch a behind-the-scenes trailer showcasing Anderson's character above, while others can be seen through the links below.
In other Star Citizen news, you can try the game for free until February 5.
